When Ashton emailed me with an opportunity to come and photograph The Junior League of Boston Design Show House 2017 I was more than happy to oblige. I love interior decorating, and I always take opportunitites to try to give back to the community!
The Junior League of Boston has hosted the Designer Show House for 46 years! Every year they pick a house, and local designers each take a room to renovate. A nonprofit, female volunteer run organization that is passionate about educating health and wellness to young women in the Greater Boston Metro community.
This year the 2017 Designer Show House is located in Belmont. It is the 1853 William Flagg Homer House, which is a stunning Mansard Victorian that sits on a lush hill over looking the Boston skyline.
This is a huge event for the JL Boston because it increases awareness of the community programs of the JL to serve the women and children of the greater Boston area. Not only are you helping vital community programs within Boston, but you are also getting a look at some of the most innovative interior designers Boston has to offer.
The rooms were so decadent, and each had so much to offer visually and mentally. I got so many ideas of things I would love to do within my own home!
A Few of the Designers included were:
Embellishments – Abby Welling Forstall
“National Association of Women Artists Inc, MA Chapter (NAWAMA) – Lorrie Berry & Jennifer Costello
Boehm Graham Design – Kacey Graham & Michaele Boehm
Elza B. Design Inc – Barbara Elza Hirsch
Artefact Home|Garden – Maureen Walsh & Sue Walsh
These photos are just a few of the MANY gorgeous spaces throughout the home, and it is a great way to spend the afternoon, all while giving back to the community. If you go let me know what your favorite room is!!!
