I remember the days I used to go into Forever 21, see a cute outfit and walk out pretty happy about it. I could virtually have an entirely new wardrobe every time I walked out of that store. New trendy clothes at a price that didn’t break the bank.
But then something changed. The quality was going down, and my fun trendy clothes started falling apart after one wash. I even started to handwash every single item. No matter – it still fell apart. And with that, I broke up my long term relationship with the giant retailer.
Lately, though I have been seeing some blogger friends wearing Forever 21 items so I decided to hop over to the website and have a look. To my surprise, the prices had gone up. I was seeing the same items that other higher quality retailers were selling and it wasn’t all clubwear. So I ordered four dresses, and I loved three. The quality felt better, and they’ve lasted a couple of washes (delicate cycle of course)!
Now, why would Forever 21 be selling more expensive items? Well, I would assume they are looking to draw in a bit of a different clientele, while still catering to a loyal fan base. It can also be brilliant marketing; place a $100 dress next to a $30 dress in similarity and you are pushing the sale of that $30 dress. This is all online, of course, I rarely do shopping at the mall anymore.
Which reminds me, they’ve gotten on board with shipping your returns. It used to be if you purchased from them online you could only return for a credit at the store, but now you can be refunded your original payment and drop it in the mail!
These were the three dresses that I loved wearing on our trip to Greenwich! I’ve made sure to link ten of my favorite dresses Forever 21 has in stock right now! How many of you love to shop at Forever 21?
