I am NOT a fragrance girl. The idea of fragrances has always fascinated me, however most of them are done wrong. Terribly wrong. I’m talking way to many chemicals, and god knows what else to give me a migraine kind of wrong. I had to actually quit working at Express when I was in college because people would come in wearing perfume that would knock me out. So when I met up with Carol Hu from The Stell, I was pleasantly surprised when she gifted me the fragrance that she had collaborated on with Soul Sunday. It’s 100% natural, organic, vegan, etc. etc. etc. In other words its the BOMB. I’m completely obsessed with the ever so lightly blended scent of rose and geranium that I can’t get enough. The packaging is also about as beautiful as you can get with a classic white and black label and finished with a decadent gold cap. And last, but not least, it is a roller ball applicator versus a spray bottle, which people tend to douse themselves with perfume. Less is more ladies, less is MORE.
I’m working on a “travel list” of all my favorite items I use when I travel, however, Raden stands out from the crowd and makes it to July Obsessions….or forever obsessions honestly. If I could have dreamt up a perfect suitcase it’s this one. Strong, yet lightweight, with a built in charger, this baby is my latest pride and joy. Not only is there a charger to charge your phone up to 4x, it has a location device (airlines can’t “lose” your luggage anymore), and a scale. Yea, this case is a smart luggage and even syncs up to an app on your phone, making your life…well…easy! Besides all these features Radens cases are downright sexy. Although I opted for the sleek and sexy black, they have eye popping colors like pink and gold. Once you own this suitcase you’ll wonder what took you so long.
When I was contacted by Munki Munki about sending me some Pajamas I was over the moon. REAL LIFE: although I post feminine dresses and cute outfits, I literally live in pjs….and lululemon. Working from home makes it easy to do this, hence why I dress up when I do go out. But I digress, because these pajamas are fabulous. They have the usual cute ensembles, but then they have…..romper pjs!!! So Munki Munki sent me the surf boards jogger romper and it takes me back to my days of living in the OBX during summers. They have some cute and playful designs and they are made of the softest material. I will be LIVING in these for the rest of summer.
Rosé is the drink of Summer, the pale pink colored drink compliments most summer meals, and you can never go wrong with it while dining al fresco. And along with Rosé everyone thinks ~ French. While it’s true that France carries some tasty rosés, I believe Tuscan rosés have stole the show this year. They are paler in color, with almost a golden hue, like the very beginning onset of a California sunset, before the colors really break through. These wines carry a complex, layered approach to flavors with light hints of fruit rounded out with well balanced acidity. These wines finish off strong with a dry, almost effervescent taste. I’m a big fan of La Spinetta, and I’m also loving Fattoria Sardi!
I have just discovered Audible in the last year. Life changing. I love books, I love to read and learn and imagine. But reading takes time, and lets face it…life is busy. So when I discovered audible it was like a whole new world – I can be productive AND still have stories in my life. Long road trips? Audible. Cleaning and cooking? Audible. Painting and misc house projects? Audible. No T.V.? No problem – Audible. Ok, so I have a T.V. but I haven’t watched it at all this summer. Its been phenomenal. The best part about audible is that it will recommend books based off of what I listen to, that way I don’t have to scour the internet to see what the next best thing is. Thank you audible.
